Life in the Garden
Jun 29th, 2007 by Manerva

Went for a walk yesterday evening to enjoy the property. Since I work from home and usually only leave the place once a week (if that), I sometimes forget to slow down and enjoy the sights. The gardens are doing OK but they need water. It’s been two weeks again since we have had any rain and my lawn is starting to look crunchy. I don’t keep a lot of annuals around except for a few geraniums so my perennials do fine with this weather but it still slows ‘em down a bit. Above is a picture of my shop where I work every day- and should get my butt out to right now. I like to see the sun set on it- that means I’m up at the house and done for the day!
On the garden scene it seems to be doing well. I have 21 tomato plants in the ground (my mom just bought me an Italian Tomato Press- thanks mom!) and about 10 of the plants are ‘with’ tomato so hopefully by mid July I should be eating sweet, sweet tomatoes…yum! The sweet corn is tasling out, the 3 varieties of beans are doing well, and my potatoes have me wondering how soon we will be harvesting since one variety looks as if they are almost ready to come out of the ground.
