Weekend Projects
Jul 8th, 2007 by Manerva
It’s been a busy weekend so far and it’s only Sunday morning. We try to do things around here the best we can without having to hire it done. It (usually) saves us a lot of money and we get a good job done without the worry of someone else doing as good of a job and this weekend is no different.
We wanted to have some kind of landscaping at the edge of our driveway since it is usually a weedy mess and refused to grow anything. Rather than having river rock brought in at $400.00 a load we did it our-self. Luckily, we live in the middle of farm country and if you drive around you can find rock piles galore! So, Friday night we hitched up the shit wagon to Alice-The Wonder Tractor and headed down the dusty back-roads in search of rocks.

After 1 load on Friday night and 2 loads Saturday, falling into a hole and twisting my right ankle and left hip, and nausea from the 99 degree heat-I know- I’m talented- we now have a landscaped driveway that looks pretty darn good and it didn’t cost anything but a lot of sweat equity and the gas in Alice. We need one more load but with the heat again today I think we will wait till it cools down.

Next project: Painting or siding that ugly shop of husbands!
