Where oh where does a week go? Between work, garden, and animals the week just flies by. We have managed to eat out of our garden for the most part this week- except for one night which husband thought I was killing him since we have had no meat in a week or so and added a couple of hot dogs to the mix. But other than that our OLS meal turned out like this:
- Scrambled eggs with fresh peas
- Fried new potatoes with fresh onion
- Beets (which I forgot to add to the plate)
- A glass of Prairie Stone wine from Fieldstone Vineyards
The eggs, peas, potatoes, onion, and beets are from the garden, wine was from 45 miles away. The only non local was salt, pepper, EVOO. I know, I know, too easy and boring compared to some of the chefs doing OLS but I promise to make something snazzy in the coming weeks!
In my defence I haven’t left home since the 4th so my options are limited!
Cheers~
Pretty looking plate! I try to eat from local, but it’s a little difficult at this time of year, and we, also, have so little moisture that the corn is starting to wilt in the fields.
I enjoy your blog - you have such nice pictures.
