Harvest and then some
Oct 5th, 2007 by Manerva

Hi ya! I’m back- well sort of. Life has been so busy as of late I just haven’t had a chance to sit down and write a darn thing or visit many of my favorite bloggers. Right now it is harvest time so I have been helping our neighbors out by driving truck, in between that I have been canning like a mad women- I have well over 100 jars of tomatos canned (raw, sauce, paste, & soup plus 24 jars of peaches. I have been making and wrapping soap daily, and selling it at craft fairs and harvest festivals on the weekends.
Above, my clematis is giving one more show for the season. Below is a dragon fly that sat still long enough for me to snap a picture of. I think s/he was as interested in me as I was of it.

Below is my friend’s truck. This happened yesterday, and believe it or not she did NOT get hurt. My friend Missi was driving, and she decided to peak into her lunch box and not pay attention to the road. She was very lucky she didn’t have her window open or her 4 year old son with! She is a tough cookie too, because she got right back in and kept truckin’! In a different truck though…

Above is ’ol blue- This is my truck being loaded.
I was really thrilled to hear that you knew of the Mountain View. It’s right down the road from Pastor Jimmy’s church. For some reason I didn’t know you drove. I’ve always had a great deal of respect for drivers…it’s a really hard and undervalued job.
Hey Rosie! Yep, I was a damn truck driver for 12 years over the road- been driving 16 total and miss it dearly. Yes it is a hard job and very undervalued but it was the best thing I did in life, and it changed me soo much!
I also miss Tennessee, if I wasn’t married I’d come back in a heart beat.
Beautiful country, wonderful people, good music, and ta die for food!
My favorite things in life…
